Quote of the day (or why I love my sister)

"Your chance at another date would have been greatly increased had I not found woman's lingerie and a condom wrapper down the side of your bed."

~ My delightfully articulate younger sister

This reminds me of one of the many reasons I adore her so-- her amazing skills at "telling-it-like-it-is" when it counts. This is the same girl, who, at 11 years old, called up my 16-year old (*cough* tremendous asshole) boyfriend and told him off for treating me so poorly.

This is not to say I didn't defend her honour on more than a few occasions. I distinctly remember a friend and I cornering some 14-year old boy in the library, and, while forcing him up against the Dewey decimalized stacks, informing him that there were going to be serious consequences if his bitter lies about my sister didn't cease. Keep in mind I weighed about 100 lbs in high school and epitomized pacifist in nearly every sense of the word.

But family is one of those things that trumps moral codes, isn't it?

~~~~
* And for those of you looking for detail, no, the subject of this quote was not her boyfriend, per se, but, seriously, dude, have a little consideration and at least clean up after yourself before trying to woo another woman.
Omg ur sis sounds like a real firecracker, in a wicked way!
But then again, I see that runs in the family. Go sisterhood! ;)
Now there's another quote of the day right there! :-)
Along with Marlon Brando and yourself, I agree that family is the trump moral code - but I fear we're in the minority...
Your sister sounds cool.
Was that "woo another woman", or did you mean "woe another woman"?
Both are applicable in that situation, of course. Calling him a pig would be an understatement.
She sounds like my sister. She's a feisty one, too.
Sweet! I'll have to remember that line to share with friends. You know. So when it turns out someone's been cheating, they have the perfect comeback.
Man, I wish I had had that when I was in that situation years ago! Cheers!
She definitely sounds like a force to be reckoned with! I am 3 years younger than my sister, but I often act like "the big sister" and take on anyone who tries to muck with her.
And seriously guys - cleaning can go a long way!
I wish I lived nearer my sister so I could look out for her the way you and your sister did for each other. Yours sounds fantastic, by the way.
My mate got caught out that way- when his girlfriend found another woman's knickers under his bed.
Sisters are great. My sisters and I have gone into "attack mode" on numerous occasions for one another. (It's nice to have family covering your back.)
Sisters are wonderful aren't they? I'm not sure what I would do if I didn't have mine :)
The boy sounds like such a manwhore! Even before his condom dries off, he's off for a date with another chick?? Gosh.
Haha! I see both you and your sister share that dry sense of humour that I love!
That's awesome that she's cool and that you two have jumped in for each other. Don't take that for granted because not all families are like that and having a close family is a really good thing.
This is awesome. Your sister sounds just as faboo as you are! I'm not sure I could handle that much fabulous in the same family!
Don't make me come up there and party with you guys!
Hahahaha! little sisters are delightful. I am a pacifist as well, and she's the argumentative one. It makes me feel all warm and gooey knowing she has my back :)
