Accidental hypocrisy

So, Wednesday, as you may know, was Pink Shirt Anti-Bullying Day, so I wore a pink t-shirt.

On Wednesday, I also donated blood for the first time.

As the nurse pierced my skin with the needle, a burst of my blood spurted out all over my shirt.

Yes, there were blood stains on my anti-bullying pink t-shirt. In other words, I looked the biggest hypocrite in the world.

I would have just called it faulty color vision in your inter vision of the future. Had it been blood red, it would have perfectly concealed the issue. {*grin*]

Besides, blood from a needle prick of mercy is not bullying or hypocrisy.

Or maybe the blood was left over from your run-in with a bully.

Regardless, good for you for donating blood! Such an easy way to help, and so few people do it.

Eek! Well, I think since the nurse was the bully here, you were the victim and should have had a bandage to prove it!

I know this is weird - and sounds a little crazy - but your own spit will take out any blood spots or stains. I've accidentally pricked myself on stuff and gotten blood on white t-shirt. A little spit and some cold water later - GONE! It's like it's magic! But because the magic comes from your spit (I know- gross) it means it's actually like YOU are magic. And I think to be magic - one has to make sacrifices - including being a tiny gross - like spitting on your shirt.

I swear it works though - promise - and cross my heart.

1) Didn't nee dthe blood spirting visual. But thanks.

2) Bullying is kind of like threatening. Blood on the shirt suggests you followed through. So, not totally a hypocrite cause you didn't stop at bullying/threatening.

Kudos to you for donating blood (and sorry about the shirt!) I wish more people would give in that way. It's so easy, doesn't cost a thing, and saves lives.

Oh no! That's awful! I've had blood spurt onto me while giving blood, and that is never a good experience.
