Woohoo! Can hardly wait!

But if you do get pregnant, I advise you to move to Sweden - full maternity leave, 460 days that you can distribute over the period till the kid is 8 years old, which means you don't have to set your foot at work for at least 8 years...

Oh, and if you manage to get pregnant within one year of giving birth to your previous kid, you don't loose out on the salaries the maternity leave is calculated on.

Pure profit. I should be shooting kids down the slide myself, if I just didn't hate kids so much... *sigh*

That first quote is pretty much the reason why Britain has a benefit crisis.

My wife just got her Master's degree in May and now she's 9 months pregnant today. I wonder how that happened...;)

Well, it's useful if you wanna benefit the most from giving birth... ;)

No otehr coutry endulges mothers-to-be like Sweden... then again, it's the land of 11months and 29days of winter, so I guess you gotta have something fun to level it all with! ;D

a friend of mine recently called doing a phd her 'baby plan', i.e. she thinks a phd will give her the time she needs to take care of a child.

I can't wait to start my accelerated masters program! Maybe being a poet will pay off. I should start putting money away, in places beside the cash register at my local bar. That would be smart.

But then again, nobody ever accused English majors of being smart. Or at least, not too smart.
