Why me pre-coffee and noxious chemicals don't get along
6:42 am.
I'm staring at myself bleary-eyed in the mirror.
I notice the remnants of yesterday's mascara smudged around my eye, so I grab a cotton pad, douse it in liquid, and press it against my right eye.
IT BURNS.
Wincing, I manage to pry open my eye, and splash some water into. I turn my good eye to the counter to see not a small blue bottle of eye make-up remover, but a large pink bottle.
I have just put nail polish remover in my eye.
I've never been so happy to not read "Please avoid contact with eyes" in my life.

Umm, I have totally thought about the possibility of that happening. Ouch. Hope your eye didn't burn off.

does your coffee-maker have a pre-set button? ours is ready when we wake up 7, specifically so we avoid putting things in our eyes that don't belong there.
Oh no! That's awful, and it definitely sounds like something I would do!
I have a similar story relating to menthol shaving foam and an area that is not my face.
Ouch.
I once inadvertently shot extra hot red curry sauce into my eye....in front of a room full of drunk people, who couldn't stop laughing. I couldn't either.
OMG! Good thing you didn't get blind or something...
Once, I accidentally squirted black acrylic paint that is inside a paint tube into my eyes. Hurt like hell. XD
